New Music Decolonization in Eight Difficult Steps
Live from the opera houses of Emilia-Romagna. Enjoy Vivaldi’s “Tamerlano” from the Teatro Alighieri, Ravenna
Don’t miss the vocal and dramatic fireworks of Antonio Vivaldi’s “Tamerlano” (also known as “La morte di Bajazet” or “Bajazet”) from Ravenna’s Teatro Alighieri. A brand new production by Stefano Monti and conducted by Ottavio Dantone stars countertenor Filippo Mineccia in the title role. OperaStreaming offers a seasonal program of video broadcasts, available free on YouTube, from the historical Opera Houses of Emilia-Romagna (Bologna, Piacenza, Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Ferrara Ravenna, and Rimini). The project, running from 2019 through 2024, invites you to enjoy the lyric tradition and opera productions of the region with backstage videos and city video-postcards.
