It’s that time again: When a handful of voters in a handful of counties in a handful of states in the United States decide the fate of planet Earth. The (once again) absurdly high stakes of the U.S. presidential election inspired me to make a playlist that doesn’t try to compete with substance use, CNN binging and doomscrolling—even the Dalai Lama probably drinks whisky and checks his phone every 18 seconds on election night—but instead complements it. So settle in with your drugs, devices, and sound system of choice, because it’s going to be a long night.
